My wedding day was one of the best days of my life. I just remember being so excited and feeling so lucky to have Luke in my life. I also remember being very anxious to see what the future would bring us. I had this feeling life would be an adventure being married to Luke. That is exactly what our life has been together. Life has never been dull with Luke.
1. What is his name?
Luke Samuel Thomas never to be known as a Lucas
2. How long have you been married?
Eight very busy, exciting, challenging, rewarding, stressful yet fun years.
3. How long did you date?
Six months Yes, I would not recommend it, but it's worked for us.
4. How did you meet?
Three weeks after I returned from my mission I begrudgingly went to a singles dance with my married sister, Kat. Kat and her husband were such good sports. The first time I saw Luke, he was dancing in the middle of a circle like a crazy man. I thought to myself, that guy either does not care what people think of him or he's just plain crazy? (Well, he's a bit of both.) Anyways, I later was standing by a girl and kept having the impression to talk to her. So, I did and it ended up she had just returned from her mission and we had a ton in common. Well, this was Tessha Luke's sister. Luke came along while we were talking and I met him. I had a really good first impression of him. I thought he was really cute, and charming. I also thought he was really old. I honestly thought he was an old man for some reason. It ended up I was 6 months older. Anyways, I found him completely adorable and was twitterpated with him from that moment on. The cocky guy that he is, he said totally knew it too. I guess I wear my feelings on my sleeve or something. We danced and talked all night. I found out that he was moving to Atlanta, GA in just a week, so I was a little bummed. I really didn't know what to think. He asked for my email and I thought "nothings going to happen here". My sister Kat who was listening in on our good bye, said "Email, that's weird! Get her number!". Thanks to Kat he did and called a few days later. We had our first date the night before he drove across country to GA. As you might guess that was a pretty darn good date. We dated long distance until we were married six months later. Pretty crazy, I know.
(this was taken when we were engaged)
5.Who eats more?
That's a hard question because, it depends. When Luke travels he's very frugal about spending money on food. He would rather see the perdiem in our pay check then in his belly. I don't know how he does it. So when he's gone I definitely eat more then he does. When he is home though he wins that one.
6.Who said "I love you" first?
Luke did. I had actually only said it to one other boyfriend before so I was just weird about it. I just wanted to make sure I only said it when I really meant it. I think I said it back maybe a couple weeks later, and I knew it was for real.
7. Who sings better?
Neither of us. We are both pretty bad. Although Luke did take voice lessons as a kid. (pre- puberty, if that answers any questions)
8. Who's taller?
Luke, he's at the perfect kiss height for me. He's just about 6 feet and I'm 5'7 makes for good smooching. Just in case you wanted to know. Sorry, too much info. (At least that's what I think I remember from our pre-kid days)
9. Whose temper is worse?
Unfortunately that's easy, mine.
10. Who does laundry?
I usually do, but Luke does it when he can.
11. Who does the dishes?
Usually I do, but this is by choice. I am one of those weird people who enjoy doing dishes. Luke is more then happy to though.
12. Who does the cooking?
Unfortunately, me. What I mean by that is, it really is unfortunate for the family. Cooking is not my thing. I don't mind doing it, I just stink at it.
I'm pretty lucky though,Luke will eat anything.
13. Who is more stubborn?
I think that is a tie.
14. Who proposed?
Luke did, and it shocked the heck out of me. I had absolutely no idea he was even thinking about it. I was totally head over hills for him, but we just had not had the talk. You know "the talk". I was pleasantly surprised though.
15. Who is most likely to admit they are wrong?
Luke wins that one.
16. Who pays the bills?
We do it together. Yes, I know that is not very common but it works for us, most of the time.
17. Who wears the pants in the house?
Ask Luke that question.
18. Why do you love your husband?
I love Luke for his heart. He has a pure heart. His intentions are always good. He is extremely unselfish. I'm hoping it will rub off some day.
Luke is also one of the best daddies around. He is a hands-on father and I'm so grateful for that. I think I'm one of the few women who can honestly say, we have probably changed the same amount of diapers. He is a outstanding father to all four of our children.
I'm also grateful for his love of the gospel. He studies the scriptures like a mad man. He is constantly telling me of new things he learns and studies.
Luke also is a lover of education. He loves to stimulate his mind. I've always admired that about him. He's probably the smartest person I know. Sorry Dad. I've always been attracted to the smart guys. I guess I was lucky enough to land me one. I got me a good one.
I also must mention his determination. Luke has sacrificed a lot and I mean a lot to get his career going. If you ever want to hear stories I've got plenty of them. I'm so grateful for all he does to provide for our family.
I love Luke because he is a good man. I'm lucky to have him in my life.

That was one of the best tags I have ever read. I think I'm going to do it with James when i get a minute to type it all up. You two are so amazing. James and I both admire you guys and hope that we can be as good of parents as you guys are. We love you lots.
What a fun tag!!! Reading it made me miss you guys so much. Luke is a good guy. And he also got a good girl too.
Jenn,
I LOVE YOU!! Anyone who has seen this wonderful online journal my wife keeps for our family, can clearly see what a wonderful wife and mother Jenn is. It is quite obvious that when we got married I got the better end of the deal. I am and will be eternally in debt to this great woman. Everything that I treasure in my life is all because of her, (our marriage, our kids, my testimony, my job, our well kept and well run home, etc…) During the trials and hard times that she has stood by my side I have been overwhelmed with the love and support she offers me. I stand in awe at the strength she possesses. When we finally make it where we are going, I will know then as I know now it was mainly because of the strength of this amazing woman.
Well I guess it is too late, to avoid turning this in to a public love letter. Oh well, I’ll tell the whole world. Because of Jenn, I am a blessed man. I Love You Jenn!!!
Love Eternally,
Luke
This was so cute!! I learned a lot about you guys. I did this on my blog too - back in December. It's called the "Hunky Husband Survey". LOL hahahaha.
How fun! Having that perfect spouse sure does make life easy & enjoyable. Jenni & I look up to both you & Luke and strive to achieve qualities that you both have. We love you!
Wow, you took this tagging thing to a whole different level! I love the pics and all you wrote. You guys have a great marriage and a great life dispite the challenges and sacrifices you have made. We miss you!! What a sweet note from Luke...oh and Jenn, you didn't tag anyone :) Love ya!
You don't look old and tired! You look exactly the same! I love reading about your life with Luke. I am glad that you are so happy and fulfilled in your marriage.
Jen you are so cutie cute. I love Luke too. Some of my best childhood memories are with Luke in Paisley. That guy pulled me through that weird Jr. High phase. He is such a stud. It was soooooo much fun to have you guys here a couple months ago and do a FHE together. We were laughing for weeks about how Luke is the coolest daddy and you guys are the coolest family. Can we come move by you. We miss you guys but I am glad you have this blog. It is so fun to see what is going on. Jen, you defiantly are lucky to have the sweetest and most dedicated guy I know but I have to say when I first met you (and that was after you were married and on your honeymoon-remember that) I thought that you were like this super hot wife and Luke for sure scored big on that. You are so much fun to talk to because after I get off the phone or whatever I always feel better about myself. You are such a good listener and have a way of making people feel good. Luke is really a lucky guy. We love your family.
What a wonderful blog entry! It sounds like you are both lucky to have each other and your kids are truly blessed to have such great parents. What a great family you are! It was so nice to get to know you guys while you lived in Jonesboro. Best of luck in Georgia and where ever else life takes you.
Dana
Jenn, I love this. I don't know Luke very well and I feel like I know (or a least use to know) you so well. Not that it matters, but now I feel like I know Luke better, and I realize how great he is for you! I love that you are so happy and that you have been blessed with such a wonderful family. I sure do wish we lived closer. I miss you!
Thats got to be one of the cutest sweetest things I've read! You need to print this out and Luke's sweet letter and keep it for your children and grandchildren! Glad you guys are doing so well!
Hey Jenn! This is Sarah Nielsen...what a neat "tag!" I usually think they are lame...but yours was amazing! Glad to see you guys are doing well and having fun!! Your kids are so cute!!
