Noah our two year old has been doing an excellent job at reminding us of the true celebration of Christmas this year. He makes sure to notify us every time he sees a picture or figurine of baby Jesus. The other night while we were out looking at Christmas lights he started to tell us that he saw baby Jesus. None of us were able to see what he was talking about. As we stopped for a moment and looked behind us, sure enough there was a small nativity scene almost too small to be seen in the dark. Luke and I were both shocked that our youngest was able to spot baby Jesus. Aren't children wonderful?! Our little Noah was able to look past all the lights and glitz of the holidays and see the simple true meaning of Christmas, "baby Jesus". I'm so grateful Christ was born and lived to set a perfect example for all of us. I know he died and lives so that we may all live again. As many may already know we lost our precious daughter 5 years ago. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of her. Quite often I find myself feeling that someone is missing. I'm beyond anxious for the day when I will get to meet and share a life with her. This time of year I tend to feel closer to our little Hayley. I know the day will come when our family and Hayley will be together. What a marvelous gift the Savior gave to all of us. I'm so grateful for baby Jesus.

Hayley is closer than you think.
what a great reminder of the true meaning! Way to go Noah!
So sweet and tender. Solemn for your experience, joyful for the atonement!
I too have my thoughts turn each day to what is missing from our family here. But, in the emptiness I find such gratitude for my Savior and what a reality his gifts of eternal life and families are. Merry Christmas to your family.
That is an awesome story. Yeah, I heard sitani crying in the room the other day and I went in to see what was the matter. He said that he was fake playing the baby jesus. Marley was giving him a bottle. Kids are the ones who really remember why we celebrate. It's all us crazy adults who get lost in the craze.
