Spencer wants to play

My sister told me I had to post her latest phone call with our little Spence. Let me start by saying our Spence is quite the funny guy. He's always saying and doing the funniest things. I probably should be posting more of them. Maybe I'll start. Anyways, back to his phone call. I have taught Spence how to call his Dad on my cell because it's a every day thing with Luke being a traveling man. The kids talk to him every day. Anyways, I never thought this would come back and bite us or my poor sister in the face. The crazy kid got a hold of my phone without me even knowing this morning. (In all honestly I was sleeping in. Luke was in town and I get to sleep in on those days.) So, Luke had left Spence at home with me while he took Kar to school. I out of habit sleep with my cell and he somehow was able to get it away from me without me noticing. :) The next thing I know Luke gets home and has Spence come in to report to me what he had been up to. Spence said he had called Aunt Sarah and that she was coming over to play. Well, normally I would be fine with this except Aunt Sarah lives in Portland Oregon and lives in the Western Standard time. Which means he called her around 4 am her time. Come to find out he called her twice and spoke to her both times. Where is his mother ??? Sleeping!! Which is actually exactly what he told his Aunt Sarah when she asked for me.

So this is how I think the conversation went.

Sarah "Hello, (tired voice) Jenn is everything okay?" (She actually answered the phone at 4 am. What a good sister.)

Spence "This is Spencer. Wonna come over and play?"

Sarah "Spencer can I talk to your mom?"

Spence "No she's sleeping....Wonna come over and play?"

Sarah " Spence I would love to come over and play but this is your Aunt Sarah and..."

Spence " I know....Wonna come over and play? Okay bye bye" and hangs up

5 minutes later

Sarah "Hello"

Spence "This is Spencer. Wonna come over and play?"

Sarah "I can't I'm sorry. Go tell your Mom your on the phone with me."

Spence "No, she's sleeping...come over and play...okay bye bye"

Well at least he was sweet enough to let me sleep even though he wasn't letting Aunt Sarah sleep. Did I mention he did the exact same thing to his Aunt Kat the morning before. Except thank goodness she lives here. :) Crazy kid with his neglectant mother.

I think it's time his Mom gets out of bed and takes her kid out to play. :)

That is so funny!! It brightened me day. When I lived with my brother and family he used to send my nephew (who was 2 or 3) downstairs to me in my room and I worked late nights at the time. I had him trained to push in the Lion King video and he'd crawl in bed with me. Luckily, he's deaf so I didn't even have to have the volume on. Oh, the things folks do to get a little shut eye!!
