I'm a late bloomer

I'm want to start off by saying that I'm normally not much of a reader. Averaging maybe one to two books a year. I know pretty sad. Saying that I also want to mention how proud I was to have somehow avoided any kind of desire to become a "Twilighter" for an ENTIRE year. Regardless of the fact that just about everyone I knew was (what I thought at the time ) acting obsessed about some silly teenage love story. Well, last week I thought I would go see what all the talk was about and see the movie. Not imagining in a million years I would actually enjoy the movie, not to mention have any sort of desire to read the huge fat books themselves. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Call me crazy but I LOVED the movie. Who would of guessed?! After seeing the movie I had to read the books. I already had a borrowed copy of the first book that I just happened to get from a friend a day earlier. Not really planning on ever reading it. Sorry Julie. :) From the second chapter on (the first chapter starts a little slow) there was no turning back. I was hooked. I ended up finishing the first book in less then 24 hours. Crazy huh?! Then Luke had three days off from work and I decided to have a reading marathon. He's so nice. :) I finished the next two books within in 48 hours. I read constantly and would stay up until 2 in the morning reading. The last book took me a little while longer due to the fact Luke had to go back to work and I had to stop ignoring the house and the kids. I did finish it within 3 days though. So I read the entire series in about 7 days. I'm a little obsessive compulsive . :) I spent the entire last week in a Twilight fog. I admitted my crush on Edward to Luke after the first book. Luke said he felt secure enough in our relationship to handle it. Who knew I was such a sucker for a good Vampire? I just can't believe how insane these books have made me. How did Stephanie Meyers do it? I've been told after reading the books you may go through a morning process, and I can see why. I'll miss the constant butterflies I felt throughout Bella and Edward's corny yet somehow touching (at least to me) relationship. I'll miss the adventure and mystery of everything. I grew to love each of the Cullens family and was surprised to feel adoration for some of them. I know it's all fictional, but somehow for the first time in a very long time I was able to escape into a different world for an entire week. It's been great and I will miss it, but I think my kids are ready to have me back on the earth again. I think our house will appreciate it too. Time to get back to life I guess. It was fun while it lasted though. Of course I think I will have to go see the movie a couple more times just to get it fully out of my system. :) So, yes I am a late bloomer, but eventually I came around. It's official I'm a "Twilighter".

haha! Well, it happened to the best of us. :)
I'm actually in the middle of 2 books, and decided to check out midnight sun (the story from Edward's perspective) online. So now, I'm technically in the middle of reading 3 books. guess which one is getting most of my attention??? :)

You are so funny! I read the books first and then saw the movie. I went in with really high expectations, so I was dissappointed with the movie. maybe I should have followed your pattern:0)

I LOVE IT! That's exactly how fast I read them too! I totally neglected my duties as housewife and mother:) And yes I totally can relate to the fog afterwards. For awhile after reading, just being in a lush green forest made me think how cool it would be to run into one of them! So cheesy I know but fun to pretend too:) Anyway i have not even seen the movie yet and i'm just procrastinating it now:(. Madi also read the books and has been wanting to see it. Maybe soon I hope.......

Better late than never girl! Wow, I think you get the record for reading all 4 books. I am glad you now don't think we are silly girls anymore :) Welcome to the twilighters!

You almost made it to Forks, Washington this summer as we took our ferry ride. I now believe Jenni is the last Mormon woman left that hasn't read those books. LOL We'll see what happens when she watches the movie.
