Okay, I really do have a confession to make and it's not that I give our kids p
opsicles in the tub. My confession is that we have/had a three and a half year old boy who is/was only partially potty trained for probably over 6 months now. Which is way too long. I don't really have any good excuses either. I just got too lazy to finish the job I think. But, after some deep reflection and new found energy I decided it was finally time to bite the bullet and get her done. So, last night Luke and I had a big talk with our little Spencer. I was shocked to find that, that was basically all it took. I guess that's what happens when you wait long enough. :)This picture was taken just minutes after the talk where he was told
every time he went pee pee(in the toilet of course) he would
receive a surprise. In the past we've always done M&M's. One M&M for #1 and two M&M's for going #2. Well, lets just say we
weren't prepared for Spence to take to it so quickly. It wasn't even a few minutes later and he was doing his business. So, just as we had promised Spence along with the other kids received a treat. Since I hadn't had a chance to pick up M&M's the kids had a p
opsicle bath. How fun is that?! You can thank Aunt Kat for that idea. The kids LOVED it and I loved it too. (talk about easy clean-up) Seriously though , can't you just see from Spence's expression how pumped he was about it?! I love this picture. (And yes the p
opsicles were strategically placed to keep the boys modest. :))
I also just have to share one quick story that I think shows how proud Spence is of his new found skill. A lady from our church stopped by our home this morning . (She's probably in her 70's) Well, Spence decided the moment she walked threw the door he just had to show off his new undies. So, he
immediately pulls his pants down to his ankles and lifts up his shirt and says "You like my new undies?" The women's reaction was priceless. I could tell she was a little taken back and wasn't quite sure what to say. Spence on the other hand was as proud as could be. I love that kid!!!
For those of you who care to know, Spence did not have a single accident today and we even left the house several times. I'm so proud of our little potty boy. Way to go Spence! :)

Maybe you guys can potty train Sitani too. He is not quite ready but maybe popsicles in the bathtub would be a good motivation. I love Noah's expression too. They are the cutest kids.
I have a feeling Spence will get to hear his awesome potty training and undies story again and again at the most inopportune times (16th Birthday, first date...)!
We gotta remember that Popsicle trick, I HATE sticky fingers.
Way to go Spence!
Love the strategically placed popcicles.
Haha too cute! Good job Spencer!
Jen, little Noah is the cutest thing. Your kids are growing up as well. Thanks for letting me into your blogging world, love keeping up with you!!
Some things are just best left until kids are ready. Sometimes you can do more damage trying to hurry things along.
I've heard it can take much longer with little boys for them to train. I fear this greatly...I'd love to get Jack potty trained, but he's not at all interested. Hooray for Spence! Oh, and I love the strategic placement of the popsicles. That is the best!
I guess that's the way to do it. Maybe I will wait till Jaike is 3 1/2.
Good job! Now the fun part comes in...cleaning the bathroom instead of changing a diaper. Boys are WAYYYYY messier. I have to clean the bathroom floor and toilet daily. I should do it after everytime he goes...I get so mad about having to do it. Just wait. You will see what I am talking about. Boys' aims are not what they should be at this stage in their life. Good luck. Keep lots of Clorox wipes handy.
YEAH JENN! I knew it would happen. All it takes is the right incentive, right? Candy did it for Ella too. I love the story of him asking the older lady if she would like to see his undies. hilarious.
