Just catching up

I thought I would go ahead a post the rest of our pictures from our trip to Seattle. I did a post earlier but that was just a mini post. As a heads up, I had just received a new camera for my b-day before we left. I was a little camera happy. Oh well, I said I wasn't going to excuse too many pictures anymore so I'm just going to stop there. Besides the trip was a blast and I want to document every part of it.
Saying that I'm just going to start from the beginning. Here's Captain Luke and his co-pilot Officer James. (A.K.A. Uncle James) At least that's what Luke referred to him as. Must be pilot humor. Ha ha ha.
We drove from Portland Oregon up to Seattle with James and Elizabeth. (Luke's sister and husband)
They were great and so much fun to be around. The kids just LOVED them.

On our way out of town we stopped at Hayley's grave. We always try to stop by if we are in the neighborhood.

We arrived late and the boys played a game of settlers while the girls watched a movie.
The following morning the guys attached the kayaks to the car and we were off for a day of fun in Seattle.

Will and James were the first to take the kayaks out for a spin.

Meanwhile Kar and Spence enjoyed the water. Their silly parents didn't even think of packing swim suites. It didn't seem to stop them from helping themselves to the water. :)

I was thinking about this and our family had quite a few firsts in Seattle.
First off, it was our first time meeting cousin Preston and ohhh what a cutie he is.

It was also the kids first time in kayaks. Saying that, it was also their first time freaking out in them . They got a little nervous once they started rocking. The ride ended up being a quick one. :)

It was Spence's first time having a picnic in the buff . Who's his mother anyways?!

Speaking of doing things in the buff. Although we did stick a shirt on him, here he is doing another first , sliding down a slide pantless. :)
I'm sure I sound like a broken record but the kids LOVED spending time with Elizabeth and James. They really are going to be great parents.

Our family had a first together. We all had our very first ferry ride. For me that was the highlight of the day. The views were just spectacular. The ferry ride reminded Luke and I of just how much we LOVE the Northwest.

I'm sure it was a first for James to be sat on by almost the entire Thomas family. I tried to find the picture of when Luke and the boys jumped on the dog pile. James you're a good sport. :)

Another one of those pictures I just had to throw in. Look at those cute boys. Yes, James your included.

This really was a first. We let the kids have McDonald's for dinner two days in a row. I really have some major issues with the golden arches. I won't go there. The kids sure loved it. :)

I hadn't realized this final first until just now, but Luke and I had our very first kiss on the ferry. Ohh soo romantic. We have been married almost nine years and we had never kissed on a ferry before. Better late then never.
It really was just a fabulous trip. Thanks again Will and Jenny for having us and thanks Elizabeth and James for joining us on our road trip. It was a blast!

I notice Captain Luke can't seem to navigate anywhere without some fancy "avionics" on the dashboard, huh?

Sure looks like you guys had a bunch of fun. Someday we want to hear that "first kiss" story!

I canNot believe how grown-up Karly is looking. I'm so hoping we get down to Georgia soon after we move back East.

Holy Moly! Here's a small world moment. James is in my ward, well, his family is. His sister Rebecca, is my girls favorite babysitter, except that she's on a mission. I just saw them at church on sunday and did not know the connection. I will have to go introduce myself next sunday. My, what a small world.
