Easter Extravaganza (This might be a long one)

For those of you who haven't already noticed our blog has become our scrapbook. Although I love the fact I get to stay in touch with everyone through our blog, my ultimate reason for blogging is to document our families activities. Blogging in my opinion is so much easier then scrapbooking for those of us who are craft impaired. So, I'm just giving a heads-up. This is going to be a long one. Our Easter activities were all way too fun not to document. So, I'm just going to start at the beginning.

Saturday afternoon we had an Easter egg hunt in our ward. Karly ended up waking up with a 102 degree temperature that morning. We did something totally out of character for me and allowed her to go. I'm even embarrassed to mention that to all you germaphobes like myself out there. In our defense Kar told us that she felt better by the afternoon and had been anticipating this hunt for weeks. (Spence just had the same thing and it was only a 24 hour bug) Are we bad? By the end of the hunt Kar was laying on the ground saying she didn't want any of her candy and she wanted to go home and sleep. Poor girl. (This picture shows how pale and clammy Kar was looking)
Spence on the other hand had a great time. It was the first real Easter Egg hunt for him. Spence's candy was basically gone by that evening. Which I'm fine with. The sooner the candy is gone the better in my opinion.
The Easter Bunny knew about our mice problem so he decided to jump up and hang the kid's filled baskets on the Family room fan. Too bad the kids snuck out before we could grab them and accidentally turned on the fan. If you can imagine the baskets filled with Easter grass and candy flew everywhere. Spence went crazy thinking it was another Easter Egg Hunt and started grabbing everything. Kar still not feeling her best started crying saying the Easter bunny just threw all there candy on the ground and gave her nothing because Spence had shoveled most of the candy into his basket. It was actually pretty funny. We did end up working things out and it all ended on a good note. The kids were fascinated by the idea of the Easter Bunny jumping all the way up to the fan to put their baskets up. Too bad they didn't get the full effect.

We were running a little behind for church but tried to quickly get some Easter pictures in.

I realized after taking theses pictures, I completely forgot to put make-up on. :) It's a good thing we have a half hour drive to church.
After our Easter dinner we decided to decorate eggs since we hadn't done them yet. There was no way our kids were going to let us skip this tradition.

Kar and I tried out this idea we saw on HGTV. You cut up masking tape and and wrap it around the egg. It makes these great stripes. Kar and I thought our masking tape egg turned out really cute.

Spence couldn't wait to take a bite out of his egg. It was actually his first hard boiled egg. He tried to eat it like an apple. I guess he learned he's not a fan of hard boiled eggs.

So, this was our finished product. Aren't they a cute little gang?!

We decided to have a little fun with our extra egg stickers. Yes, we are silly.

Spence tossed Luke's cell phone at Kar's eye yesterday afternoon. I actually thought we might have to take an Easter emergency room trip. Luckily it was a little cut with a lot of blood. Our kids are crazy.

So, usually when Luke walks in on the kids and I being silly he just thinks I'm a crazy Mom and doesn't want any part of it. I was actually way surprised when Luke decided to join in on the fun. He might kill me for posting these pictures of him. He should know better then to let a bloggalcohlic take pictures of him being a goofball. Besides it was a special occasion and it needs to be documented. So, sorry Honey. I love you and look how hot you are when you get silly. Grrrrrrrrr. Hubba hubba :)

Jen what a blast. I love the fan and basket story, your kids reactions crack my up.

One day we'll have to show your kids those home videos I have of you, then they'll know what goofy really is.

Looks like a fantastic Easter (minus Kar's fever...that's the pits!). I love how goofy you are with your kids. I feel that way a lot with Jack, but I want him to look back and remember LOVING being a kid and hanging out with his Mom all the time.

Wow, Easter is fun at your house. I love imagining the fan spinning and candy flying. What a wonderful idea! Jenn, do you know of a way to copy your blogsite onto a CD? I've thought this would be a good way to keep a record (scrapebook)but I don't know if it's possible. Let me know what you think.

Sandy,
Check out this site:
http://www.blurb.com/create/book/blogbook

It prints blogs into book form. I'm hoping to do it eventually.

Hilarious is all I have to say! Don't you just love having kids- you laugh more than you ever thought you could! Sounds like you had a great Easter. Oh, and you are not bad about having Karly go with a fever- I would have so done the same thing:)

Hi this is Elizabeth! I liked when your baskets were on the fan and when Spencer didn't like the eggs. That was funny!
