January 14th has always been a special day or has been as long as I can remember. Two very important people in my life were born on January 14.
The first being my big sister Kat. When I say big, I really mean older, much older sister. (just in case you needed to be reminded Kat) I'm so glad we grew out of the "you bug me phase" we went through as kids.
Kat, you are one of my dearest friends, and I can't imagine life without you. You have always been there for me. I still remember when I was single and you would let me vent to you about my love life, or lack of a one. You where also there and actively a part of me meeting my hubby. You got me through four hard pregnancies, and you cried with me through one of the hardest times of my life. You stayed up with me the entire night the night we found out we lost our little Hayley. (Luke was exhausted and had fallen asleep). I don't think I will ever forget that night. I have truly been blessed because you are you. I'll stop with all this sappy stuff. Just know how lucky I feel to be related to one of my most favorite people. So, sorry Kat, you are stuck with me for life. (okay, and a little bit longer then that)
Sorry Kat, you might hate me for putting up this picture. You just look so darn cute.
The other person who shares this special day was my very first best friend, Amyanne. Every year regardless of where I'm living, or how long it's been since we have talked, I think of her on January 14th. I have so many fun memories of us playing together. We would play Miss America, or play house for hours in the coolest play house ever. (they had a play house in their backyard that had two stories). When we got older, (like 7 ) we would jump off the very top of the play house (this was like jumping off the roof of a single story home) onto a old water bed mattress. It was the most adventurous thing I could ever imagine doing. I also think I ran away from home my very first (and only) time with Amyanne. Boy, we have some fun memories together. I just love you Amyanne and admire the person you have become. Thanks for the memories.
Amyanne is on the far left, then me, April, and Daylynn whom is holding my baby brother Mikey.
Happy Birthday guys!

So how old did Kat turn this year? Are those some gray hairs in that photo, or is it the lighting?
If you ask Kat, she's 29.
Happy Birthday Kat!!!! When is she going to do a blog? Tell her I said "HEY" and "Happy Birthday"
Love ya
Oh Jenn, I love this post. I got all teary reading about your memories of Kat. She is such a great girl and I feel lucky just to know the two of you, so I can only imagine how you feel having Kat as your sister.
I also love the picture of you cute young girls. Those were the days, huh? So fun to see such an old photo and know every person in it! Happy Birthday to Amyanne and Kat. Oh, and yeah...when is Kat going to blog?
OH!! I LOVE THOSE PICTURES! It's fun to see you and Kat as the little kids that I remember. Why do we have to live so far from each other now. I wish that I could have been there to share Kat's b-day with her. Give her a kiss for me.
Thanks for letting me be part of the big surprise party! It was great fun. Hope you had a great one Kat! I love having family in the ward.
p.s. start a blog
